The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement will permit Betfair continue its online operation followed the closure of its New Jersey partner, Trump Plaza set for September 16th.
According to the Bloomberg business news report, David Rebuck, director of New Jersey's Division of Gaming Enforcement said, “The division will consider input from all involved parties to ensure a smooth transition as Trump Plaza winds down its operations and as Betfair continues its Igaming operations in the state.”
Regulations in NJ require that online gambling operations partner with an Atlantic City land based operator; however an exception is being made during this time and Betfair will on the hunt for a new partnership. The DGE has not placed a time limit on how long it may operate without a land based partner.
