Premier League: Arsenal complete Calum Chambers signing
Arsenal have signed England Under-19 defender Calum Chambers from Southampton for around 16 million pounds. The 19-year-old defender has made 25 appearances for Southampton. He is a versatile player that could be an option as a right back, central defender or even in midfield. "The way he adapted to the Premier League last season at a young age shows that he has tremendous quality," said Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. Arsenal are also willing to buy Saints midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, aged 24. Chambers has become Arsenal's fourth signing of the summer after Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez, Newcastle right-backMathieu Debuchy and Nice goalkeeper David Ospina have already joined the club. "He has a lot of the attributes that we look for in a young player and I am sure that he will do well with us," added Wenger. "I am so happy to be signing for Arsenal. They are a team I have much admired for their playing style, and a team who have been one of the top sides in Europe for many years," Chambers said after signing the contract. "I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone at Southampton for everything they have done for me and for making this move possible." The Gunners are still looking for a holding midfielder and another defender in case captain Thomas Vermaelen leaves the club. Arsenal are said to be chasing Real Madrid central midfielder Sami Khedira, here are the odds for his transfer at SkyBet: Arsenal 1/4 Chelsea 3/1 Monaco 10/1 Manchester Utd 25/1 Bayern Munich 33/1
