Premier League: Tottenham sign Swansea's Davies and Vorm
Tottenham have signed Swansea City duo Ben Davies and Michel Vorm, with midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson moving from the Spurs to the Swans. Wales full-back Davies, aged 21, has signed a five-year deal while Netherlands goalkeeper Vorm, aged 30, has agreed a four-year contract with the Spurs. Iceland international midfielder Sigurdsson, aged 24, has signed a four-year contract with Swansea. Sigurdsson has already played for the Swans in 2011-2012 when he was on loan from Hoffenheim, that time he scored seven goals in 18 games. Left back Davies was chased by Liverpool as well but he said Spurs were "the ones chasing me from the beginning" and that joining the north London club was "too good an opportunity to turn down". He added: "I had never thought or wanted to leave Swansea, but an opportunity like this doesn't come up often in your career." Davies made his debut for the Swans at the age of 19 in August 2012 and then established himself as first-choice left-back when Neil Taylor suffered a long-term injury. His solid performances also earned him 10 caps with the Wales national team. Goalie Michael Vorm was part of the Dutch squad that finished third at the World Cup in Brazil earlier this month. He will compete with France number one Hugo Lloris and 43-year-old Brad Friedel for the place between the sticks at Spurs. Tottenham are 66/1 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title next season.
