SBObet Cleared of Involvement in Illegal Online Betting Ring
US officials accused online sportsbook SBObet of being involved in an illegal betting ring that was brought down in Las Vegas last weekend but it seems that the accusations were false. Poker player Paul Phua was arrested in addition to seven other individuals associated with the ring which accepted illegal wagers on World Cup football matches via the SBObet website. SBObet released a statement indicating that it does not accept wagers from American players and if Phua placed bets while in Las Vegas this would only be possible with the use of proxy computers located in a different location.
