Churchill Downs Prepares to Enter Online Market
A Louisville, Kentucky news publication, the Courier-Journal, wrote about the goings with Churchill Downs and its plans to enter the online gambling business. The article reveals company has spent a lot of time on the development of its online gambling site which also includes the software. The new venture will create as many as 50 jobs in Louisville with salaries of up to $168,480 a year including benefits. Churchill currently has an online brand in Luckity, which accepts advance-deposit account betting on live racing and offers a gaming option similar to bingo. "Company officials have said Luckity is not directly related to its hopes to participate in an online poker business, but the investment in the wagering platform used by Luckity and its TwinSpires.com online horse betting business would be used to help Churchill compete in legalized internet gambling", according to the Courier Journal.
