Just day after the US Supreme Court declined involvement in New Jersey's appeal against lower court rulings against introducing intrastate sports betting, state politicians in both the Assembly and the Senate have placed their stamp of approval on a draft bill presented by Sen. Ray Lesniak.
The new bill allows the state to repeal its laws against sports betting in Atlantic City casinos and state racetracks.
It's now up to Governor Chris Christie to approve the state law and risk additional sports league and federal litigation or he can veto the bill and have trouble with state politicians.
Either way he turns he will face a difficult decision; however he has 45 days to mull it over.
