Primera Liga: Atletico Madrid get closer to the title
Atletico Madrid now need just two more wins to clinch the Primera Liga title after recording a 1-0 win at Valencia last weekend. Raul Garcia scored the only goal of the match a couple of minutes before the interval after a mix-up between goalkeeper Vicente Guaita and Jeremy Mathieu. It wasn't an easy win for Atletico though, Valencia dominated possession and Jonas squandered a big chance by heading wide. Atletico finished the match with 10 men as Juanfran was sent off for a violent tackle. This was the ninth consecutive league win for Atletico Madrid who are six points clear of Real Madrid at the top of the table as Ancelotti's men defeated Osasuna 4-0 at home on Saturday. There are three matches remaining before the end of the season and if Atletico win two of them they will gain their first title since 1996. The last of those three games will be at Barcelona on 18 May but Atletico could clinch the title before that difficult match. Before Barcelona Simeone's men will face Levante away on 4 May and then Malaga at home on 11 May, both mid-table opponents. Real Madrid could finish tied on 94 points with Atletico but in that case Diego Simeone's team will get the title as they have a better head-to-head record this season. An upset could still happen though, here are the outright title odds at Bet365: Atletico Madrid - 3/10 Real Madrid - 7/2 Barcelona - 9/1
