The Betting Service Targets UK Sports Clubs
A company that builds sites for sports clubs, The Betting Service, is partnering with sportsbook Bet Butler and Club Website in an effort to give something back to clients claiming that its business plan is set up to exploit a large market comprising British sports clubs as the “Robin Hood of betting”. The company intends to draw in 30,000 of 151,000 clubs where they estimate the average bettor will part with GBP 50 each month and GBP 10 will go to the club. Marketing director Neil Riches said TBS would give GBP 2 million in 2014 based on grassroots rugby saying: "We're the Robin Hood of bookmaking. Traditional bookmakers are greedy and don't give anything back, whereas we are supporting the clubs and put cash back into the local community." Sports club members and fans may register with the club's website to place wagers and the team will earn free sports equipment. A total of 20 percent of gambling losses will go toward the club.
