Transfer News: Celtic reject bid for Gary Hooper
Scottish champions Celtic Glasgow have rejected Hull City's bid for Gary Hooper, media reports say. Newly promoted Premier League club Hull City had made an offer for Hooper but the bid, believed to be in the region of four million pounds, was turned down by Celtic. Hooper has just one year left on his contract at Celtic and is being chased by a number of English clubs. Norwich City tried to buy him in January while Sunderland, Southampton and Reading are also interested in securing the services of the 25-year-old forward. Gary Hooper has joined Celtic from Scunthorpe United in 2010 and had a great impact in Scotland, scoring 63 goals in 95 appearances. During the 2010–11 season, Hooper had the best strike rate of any player in Britain, scoring 20 goals in 26 games. It was also the fourth best strike rate in Europe, behind famous players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Antonio Di Natale. If you want to bet on Hooper's next destination you can do so at SkyBet, here are the odds for a transfer before September 1st: Hull City - 4/6 Norwich - 4/1 West Ham - 5/1 Everton - 12/1 Newcastle - 14/1 Totteham - 14/1 Sunderland - 16/1 Cardiff - 20/1
