Premier League: Liverpool sign Kolo Toure from Manchester City
Liverpool have agreed a deal with Manchester City for Ivorian defender Kolo Toure and the 32-year-old international will move to Anfield on 1 July when his contract at Etihad Stadium expires. Toure has made 102 appearances for City since joining from Arsenal for 14 million pounds in July 2009 and was a key part in the team that won the Premier League in 2011-12. The 2012-13 season was not as good though, he played just 13 games and was left out of the club's Champions League squad. Liverpool needed a new centre back following the retirement of central defender Jamie Carragher and also due to uncertainty over the future of Slovakia international Martin Skrtel. In seven seasons at Arsenal, Toure won the FA Cup twice and also won the Premier League title in the 2003-04 season, a campaign which saw the Gunners going unbeaten throughout the season. Toure missed out on Manchester City's 2011 FA Cup success after being suspended for six months in March of that year for failing a drugs test. Manchester City are 9/4 to win the Premier League next season at Bet365 while Liverpool could bring you a lot of money if they win it as they are priced at 28/1.
