The eighth sport has been added by virtual sports betting provider Inspired Gaming Group to its virtual sport library – a pioneering Virtual Cricket game, the first of its kind in the industry.
The game which includes an in-run betting option alongside a single match game, enables customers to place bets during play as the game develops and odds change. Also, each Virtual Cricket event shows two cricket teams playing a Super Over that consists of one over (six balls) for each team during a four minute event cycle.
Therefore, players can bet at the start and during the match on up to 9 different betting markets, while operators can schedule up to 15 Virtual Cricket events per hour in a stadium that can be customized with specific branding.
In addition, the company specified that it will launch the game across retail, online and mobile sports betting platforms.
According to Steve Rogers, Managing Director of Inspired's Virtual Sports division, “The decision to develop Virtual Cricket is due to the popularity of cricket as a live sports betting product especially in the UK, Australia, the Indian subcontinent, South Africa, West Indies and New Zealand, where we expect it to become very popular across all channels.”
