Andy Murray overcame a rough start to the match and eventually beat Grigor Dimitrov 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 to move into the fourth round at the Miami Masters. The US Open champion lost his serve twice early in the first set before rescuing two set points at 2-5. Dimitrov made no less than three double faults in the next game, allowing Murray back into the set, which he took on a tie-break. Then Murray broke serve early in the second set and remained comfortably ahead to book his place in the next round.
Dimitrov, the world number 32, made a great start to break Murray's service early in the first set before snatching another break to take a commanding lead. But the Scot kept calm on two set points and the balance shifted as Dimitrov nervously put in three double faults to give Murray a way back into the set. The 21-year-old Bulgarian was bereft of confidence after losing his chance to take a set against Murray for the first time in his career and lost his serve in the second game of the next set.
Murray had two more break points in the sixth game but he wasted that chance and Dimitrov fought on, saving two match points on the Scot's serve. Murray held firm though and booked a place against Italian world number 19 Andreas Seppi in the next round. If he wins this tournament, Murray will be world number two ahead of Roger Federer. Novak Djokovic remains the top favourite at Bet365 though, he is 8/15 to win the tournament with Andy Murray at 12/5 and Tomas Berdych at 12/1.
