This week, Sportech plc announced that it has inked a strategic technology services agreement with technology firm Longitude.
The deal covers the exclusive distribution of the Longitude single pools product within Europe and India for sports pool betting. This partnership should be highly beneficial to Sportech as the Longitude technology has been modified for sports pool betting, said a Sportech spokesman, adding that liquidity can be built through single pools by offering multiple bet types based on a single pool.
This will boost Sportech's pool of products and technical functionality, he said, predicting that after certain technology integration work, new products will be available in the second quarter of 2013.
The aim of the partnership is to exploit Sportech's industry expertise and Longitude's technology, which will initially be available in tablet, mobile and online formats, in order to bring an attractive offering and attract a new and younger customer base.
According to Sportech CEO Ian Penrose, "The constant evolution of the customer experience and development of new products is a priority for management, and working with Longitude will add considerably to our digital products and technical capabilities, initially focused on football.”
Commenting on the new deal, Tom Ascher, Longitude's managing director said: "We are delighted to have been selected by Sportech to collaborate on our first deployment of Longitude's single pool technology for sports pool betting."
