Racing Sponsorship Extension for Bet365

Another three years of the sponsorship

The latest reports from online betting and gaming company Bet365 involve news of a three-year extension of its sponsorship of the Old Newton Cup and Lancashire Oaks races held at Haydock Park Racecourse in the United Kingdom.

Thanks to the sponsorship, Haydock Park will be able to offer increased prize money on the Old Newton Cup, boosting the reward from GBP 60 000 to GBP 100 000.

The two races will be held on July 7, 2012, and they are expected to attract a lot of interest, especially with the increased prize pool.

According to Dickon White, Haydock Park’s managing director,: “The valuable contribution that bet365 will be making to this day has allowed us to raise the level of prize-money for the Old Newton Cup, Haydock Park’s most historic race and one of British racing’s ‘Heritage Handicaps’.”

On the other side, it was assessed by Denise Coates, joint chief executive of bet365: “We have developed a very strong and commercially valuable relationship with Haydock Park Racecourse through our support of one of the showpiece occasions of the Flat racing season. Lancashire Oaks and Old Newton Cup day affords us a high profile in the summer and it is excellent that we have extended our sponsorship for a further three seasons.”
