Aussie Bookie Doing Well at Mobile Sports Betting

New mobile service from Betchoice appears to be a significant business

The recently launched mobile sports betting service was a real boost for Betchoice's internet operations. Its chief executive Graham Keating said that it brought in substantial additional business during the recent Spring Racing Carnival, and is expected to have a positive impact on betting in other sports as well.

Betchoice takes bets on a wide range of sports and events, and has an annual turnover of some A$200 million. It was founded in 2001 and now employs 30 people The company has offices in Sydney while the phone betting service goes to a Darwin based call centre.

Mobenga, Playtech's mobile technology subsidiary worked with Betchoice on the introduction of the mobile channel, and sports betting is offered on both iPhone and Android devices but thanks to growing punter demand in Australia, they have plans to extend the services.
