Update: BetNet Acquired by France-Pari
Acquisition to see player base boosted A new acquisition has been announced this week by France-Pari which has taken over French-domained BetNet after its declaration of bankruptcy last month, when the company found itself put under control of The Commercial Court of Compiègne (CCC). The consideration paid for the acquisition is at present not known. Yet, the deal will almost double France-Pari's player base, as the acquisition brings it BetNet's database of 13 500 player accounts, of which 4000 are deemed "truly active", as well as the brand and domain name. In addition, France-Pari announced that it will retain one of the four company employees. According to BetNet President, Patrick Barbe, "Sorry to let go of a good product but we are happy that the activity continues and no-one was badly affected." Another statement arrived from France-Pari's founding president, Hervé Schlosser, who assessed that France-Pari's "arrival" to online horse race betting from sports betting will result in the implementation of its partnership with Zeturf. He promised it to be a good competition to 85 percent strong market share holder Pari-Mutuel Urbain (PMU).
