Hiya Members,
I am not much of a TV watcher but i just saw a movie on cable that caught my eye and couldn't quit watching it. The Big Fan is about a guy's love for the New York Giants football team.
He see's one of his idols from the team while out one nite having pizza with his friend. They follow the Giant to a club. The fan introduces himself and mentions he saw him outside the pizza joint and followed him there. Being awe struck by him he offers to by him a drink. The player was not so receptive and accused him of stalking him.
The player beats him up so bad that he is hospitalized. His brother a lawyer wants to press charges where he would of won millions of dollars for his case but he refused to him do it. He felt guilt and remorse for the player because he was benched at the games after the news media leaked the story.
He was a die hard fan. Fanatical to say the least. But there was a bit of sadness because he was so dedicated to his team.
Have you ever loved a sports team/player or anyone in that matter in the public eye where you would of done the same and not pressed charges because of your love for them?

I saw that movie as well. The fact that his idol never reached out to him or showed any remorse made his loyalty even more unbelievable.
Sometimes the image in our minds tends to be greater than the person we idolize. If I was truly passionate about someone or something, I just don't know....
