Thanks for the reply Spearmint.  I think Germany will win but I'm cheering on the Dutch cos England are out (what a disaster).

Scotland is one of my favourite places too but as you say, they aren't in it so I can't cheer for them.

Uruguay vs Holland

Uruguay to win  5/1
DRAW    13/5
Holland to win  8/13

Germany vs Spain

Germany to win  13/8
DRAW  23/10
Spain to win   13/8

Looks like Ladbrokes aren't at all sure on the Germany Spain match.

Results for todays match:

Uruguay   2   :   3   Netherlands

Holland to win  8/13

A $10 bet would have won you $6.15 plus your money back.  Not so good.

Netherlands are now the first team through to the World Cup final.  Yay!

Here are a few odds from different sportsbooks for the outright winner between Spain and Netherlands.  The final is being played on Sunday at 7.30 BST / 2.30 ET

FOR SPAIN TO WIN

William Hill (NO USA)  4/7  /  -175.00 (BEST ODDS)
Ladbrokes (NO USA) 8/15 / -187.50
Sportingbet (NO USA) 1/2  /  -200.00

FOR NETHERLANDS TO WIN

William Hill (NO USA) 6/4  /  +150.00
BlueSquare Sportsbook (NO USA)  6/4  /  +150.00
Boylesports (NO USA) 6/4  /  +150.00

As you can see, pretty much the same result for Netherlands to win on the betting odds.  I can't get any USA OK odds at all.

The game is over for Uruguay and Germany.

The result was:

Uruguay   2   :   3   Germany

1st ??
2nd ??
3rd Germany
4th Uruguay

Well done to Germany for some outstanding games.

The final is today as you know and this thread is coming to a close. I've really enjoyed keeping track of the games and the odds at the "bookies".  I hope you've found it useful too.

So it's Spain v Netherlands for the final.

Good luck to both teams.  Thanks for reading.

The result then - Spain win the World Cup 2010.

Big congrats to "Espana" - they were odds on to win from the outset.
Final score

Netherlands   0   :   1   Spain

Netherlands are therefore 2nd overall.
Well done to all the teams and congrats to South Africa for a fantastic tournament.
