Longest game ever recorded at Wimbledon today.

The match lasted 10 hours and the score ended at 59 games all in the 5th set when bad light stopped play.

The players were Isner and Mahut and they will have to continue their game tomorrow!

The longest game ever recorded at Wimbledon finished yesterday as American Isner, 25, completed his three-day epic against Frenchman Nicholas Mahut, 28, by winning 70-68 in the fifth and final set.

The game lasted 11 hours and five minutes in total and the amount of steps they took was the equivalent of running 2 marathons.

RECORD BREAKERS

Some record breaking facts:

Longest Match: 11hrs 5mins (previous longest 6hrs 33mins Santoro v Clement in the French Open 2004)

Most Games In A Match: 183 (previous longest 112, Pancho Gonzales v Charlie Pasarell at Wimbledon 1969)

Most Games In A Set: 138 in the fifth and final set (previous longest 46 games Gonzales v Pasarell whose match lasted 5hrs, 12mins and included 112 games in 1969)

Longest Set: 8hrs 11mins, 138 games (previous longest Gonzales v Pasarell)

Most Aces: Isner served 112 aces, Mahut sent down 103 as they both eclipsed the old world record of 78 held by Ivo Karlovic.

Ladies singles final today:

Serena Williams Vs Vera Zvonareva

They just walked out onto the centre court at Wimbledon. 90o which is pretty hot without running around hitting a tennis ball.

Good luck to both.

Congrats to Serena Williams who won the ladies singles.  Odds for her were 9/4 so a $10 bet would have won you $22.50 (plus your money back).

Serena won 2 sets to love 6-3 6-2.

In the "gentlemens" singles, Tomas Berdych lost to Rafael Nadal who won by 3 sets to nil,  6-3 7-5 6-4.

Odds for Rafael Nadal to win were 5/2 so a $10 bet would have netted you $25 (plus your money back).
