It was a sad day for the city of Manchester as both United and City failed to qualify for the next round. Man City did do their part as they defeated Bayern Munich 2-0 but that wasn't enough as Napoli secured their spot in the next round after beating Villarreal 2-0. The biggest shock of the day was in Switzerland where FC Basel pulled off a huge upset by defeating Manchester United 2-0 to advance to the next round.
