The Miami Heat earned a narrow win in game 3 of the NBA Finals but that was good enough to take a 2-1 lead in the series. Dwyane Wade and the Heat survived a fourth-quarter push by Dirk Nowitzki as Wade scored 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, but Miami needed a clutch bucket from Chris Bosh and a late defensive stop by Udonis Haslem to offset Nowitzki's 34-point, 11-rebound night. Bosh finished with 18 points and LeBron James added 17 points and nine assists. Jason Terry scored 15 off the Dallas bench. The Mavericks got 11 rebounds from Tyson Chandler and 10 assists, nine points and six boards from Jason Kidd.

The Dallas Mavericks are ahead for the first time in the NBA Finals series as they beat the Miami Heat 112 to 103 in game 5 and lead the series 3-2. Dirk Nowitzki scored 29 points while LeBron James responded with a triple-double: 17 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. James was disappointed though, here's what he said after the game: "At the end of the day, all it's about is a win or a loss. Triple-double means absolutely nothing in a loss. So we will be better in Game 6 on Sunday."
