The New York Knicks put up a brave fight in Denver but they didn't do enough to avoid their sixth straight defeat. Amar'e Stoudemire led the Knicks with 24 points but Carmelo Anthony put on another good performance for the Nuggets, he had 26 points and nine rebounds and his team held off a late rally by New York to claim the win.

Atlanta Hawks at Indiana Pacers 102-92

Miami grabbed a splendid home victory last night and it was mostly thanks to forward Chris Bosh who scored a season-high 35 points to lead the Heat to a 123-96 victory against the Phoenix Suns at American Airlines Arena. It was the Heat's first win over a team with a winning record since defeating Orlando on October 29th.

Phoenix Suns at. Miami Heat 96-123
Toronto Raptors at. Philadelphia 76ers 94-86
Los Angeles Lakers at. Detroit Pistons 103-90
Los Angeles Clippers at. Minnesota Timberwolves 111-113
Chicago Bulls at. San Antonio Spurs 94-103
New York Knicks at. Sacramento Kings 113-106

Two matches coming up tonight and the most interesting one sees the Nuggets traveling to Portland to take on the Blazers who played surprisingly well to start the season, but have struggled as of late. At this point the Utah Jazz (7-4) and the Oklahoma City Thunder (6-4) are sitting in first and second in the Northwest division, but not far off are the Portland Trail Blazers (7-5) and the Denver Nuggets (6-5) as this division could be amongst the most competitive in the NBA this season. Here are the odds from TheSportsbook.com:

                               Point Spread    Over/ Under
Los Angeles Clippers at Indiana Pacers
Los Angeles Clippers    + 8.5 ( -110)    O202 ( -110)
Indiana Pacers        -8.5 ( -110)    U202 ( -110)

Denver Nuggets at Portland Trail Blazers
Denver Nuggets        + 3 ( -110)    O203 ( -110)
Portland Trail Blazers    -3 ( -110)            U203 ( -110)

Portland grabbed a vital yet scrappy win last night over the Denver Nuggets. It was a game that saw poor shooting from both sides so the rebounds made a real difference. Portland's Marcus Camby made 14 rebounds, here's what he said after the game: "A very ugly win. We didn't shoot the ball particularly well, but we got on the offensive boards, get a lot of putbacks and kept ourselves alive until we were able to hit some shots in the second half." LaMarcus Aldridge had a great game with 24 points and 10 rebounds.

Los Angeles Clippers at Indiana Pacers 80-107
Denver Nuggets at Portland Trail Blazers 83-86

The Memophis Grizzlies grabbed a thrilling win over the Miami Heat with Rudy Gay scoring the decisive points "at the buzzer". It was a very important win for the Grizzlies as it ended a poor five games losing streak and forward Zach Randolph was the key man as he scored 21 points and made 13 rebounds. LeBron James scored 29 points for the Heat but he was unable to stop Gay's perfect shot at the buzzer.

They never looked like losing the game especially since Pau Gasol didn't miss a shot or a free throw all game and netted a game-high 28 points. Kobe Bryant scored 31 points while Pau Gasol made 11 rebounds but that didn't help the LA Lakers to avoid the third defeat of the season. The Utah Jazz had a great fourth quarter and they scored the game's final 11 points to get a famous win over the defending champions. Deron Williams was the MVP for the hosts, he bagged 29 points and made 12 assists as the Jazz came back from 19 points down to grab the win. Here's what coach Jerry Sloan had to say about that fightback: "It looked pretty bleak out there in the early part of the ballgame when they got out to a pretty good lead on us. Again, our second group came in and gave us a tremendous lift. They got the fans behind us. Their energy jumped up a great deal."

The Dallas Mavericks managed to achieve their 13th consecutive win against the Miami Heat, the team from Florida surely has a complex towards the Mavericks by now... Caron Butler (23 points) and Dirk Nowitzki (22 points) drove Dallas to another convincing win, their fifth in a row this season. LeBron James scored 23 points for the Heat and extended his streak to 14 consecutive games with at least 20 points scored but that didn't help his team too much last night. Dallas are in 5th place in the Western Conference after last night's game while retain the same position but in the Eastern Conference.

The Indiana Pacers caused a major upset last night after beating defending champions LA Lakers at Staples Center for the first time in their history. Kobe Bryant scored no less than 41 points for the Lakers but that wasn't enough as he missed two decisive three-pointers during the dying seconds. Roy Hibbert drove the Pacers to a famous victory, he had 24 points and 12 rebounds. Indiana move fifth in the Eastern Conference while the Los Angeles Lakers are second behind San Antonio in the Western Conference.

Atlanta Hawks at Toronto Raptors 96-78

Utah Jazz at Los Angeles Clippers 109-97
Oklahoma City Thunder at Houston Rockets 98-99
