Disgraced golfer, Tiger Woods, will make his first public appearance in more than three months since revelations surfaced of infidelity. A media appearance is slated for Friday but will not include a question and answer session with reporters. Attendance also will be limited to "a small group of friends, colleagues and close associates. Meanwhile, Tiger Woods odds to win the upcoming Masters golf tournament have been slashed at Sportsbook.com from +300 to +250. He is the favorite there despite having not played golf in months. This to me is still taking the easy way out, he doesn't want anyone at the news conference that's not one of his close friends or associates. What a big chicken **** if you ask me. They say he will talk about his "indiscretions" but won't answer any questions.

Personally, I don't think he needs to answer to anyone but his wife. Thousands- maybe million of spouses cheat everyday & the only person they owe anything to is thier spouse.
You know the media is going to tear his speech apart.

Sorry, I can't agree with you there....I don't think he should have to explain himself at all.....seriously if you were caught cheating would you want the whole world to know all the details of it? That is something he needs to explain with his wife and her only, it's not any of our business what he does with his personal life, and it's a shame that so many people are actually worried about it and want to know. I also think it's a shame for his career to be halting, he's a great golf player and his sex life also has nothing to do with his sport.....but I guess thats a price that comes along with fame!!

If Tiger was just a golfer, than no one would care. But he CHOSE to become a celebrity endorser (Nike, Gatorade, Buick, etc.) and create a facade of a squeaky clean image....with that generous salary and CHOOSING to be in the media spotlight, comes the trade off of making your business everyone elses business. In effect, he owes the public an apology.

I don't think he chose to be an endorser...but the other way around. I think they chose him, and really, who would turn down millions of dollars to go on a few photo shoots and make a few commercials? I really don't see how he could possibly "owe" the public an apology. I would be considered the public and he doesn't owe me a damn thing because he didn't do anything to me and as I said before where he sticks his privates is not mine or anyones business or problem.....oh and no offense tyesmommy, thats just my outlook on it...

I disagree with you tyesmom, but that's the golden glory of the forum I guess. I do agree with you when you said " CHOOSING to be in the media spotlight, comes the trade off of making your business everyone elses business". Everyone knows the media stalks celebrities-no matter how big or small, and your personal life is immediately exposed to the public. Whether you want it to be or not. But I disagree that just because he choose to endorse these companies, he OWES the public anything. I'm sure that when he signed those contracts, he was doing it for the money- not for the personal relationship he has with the public. If I choose to drink Gatorade, I do so because I like the taste of it- not because Tiger tells me to. And if Tiger has multiple sexual affairs, I'm going to continue drinking Gatorade, not SexDrive Energy drink(a real drink, by the way). A celebrity's actions/words do not affect me personally, so I do not NEED an apology from any celebrity for anything they choose to do in their personal life. If it doesn't affect me, or my family directly, then an apology is not warrented in any way. Again, in my opinion, his wife is the only one he needs to apologize to.

Bottom line: Tiger Woods is newsworthy and the media will flock on it. His indiscretions are between him and his wife and God if he chooses. I wonder how much of this his wife knew regarding his addiction. Yes Kobe came out and apologized to the media and his family. He has since recovered from a media whitewash. Personally I don't care what he does in his personal life. He is a sportsman and I watch the sport, not the life of a sportsman. Tiger Woods sells papers. I am sure a lot of sports celebs are crossing their fingers they don't get caught along with a lot of other folks, but hey if you are in the limelight watch your back or better yet, dont get caught, thats the name of the game and Tiger Woods missed out on this hole in one...he hit the wrong hole!

AC and Satan, totally respect our differences of opinion its all good. I see your point....but satan he did choose to go down the path of an athletic celebrity. Many others dont...not to bright in my opinion, but some chose to quietly play there sport and not entertain the idea of endorsements or limit themselves. Tiger went overboard-way too far, he's technically a trademark name for Nike/Gatorade and therefore "public domain". Its not just about doing a couple of ads. For example, like Nike, Gatorade spent billions advertising/marketing/making/hiring people for the "Tiger division" a drink named Tigerade...you dont think he owes those people (who are now out of a job) an apology? His PR people? His agents? Or how about all the charities he backs for the rainforest, the underpriveleged kids, the learning centers, golf camps, etc. Those people are now screwed because he couldn't keep his putter in his pants. So, does Tiger owe me an apology? No! I could care less but I would like to see those that have been effected by this apologized to publicly...they deserve it.

I think its all about the almighty dollar!! It makes for good headlines. It should definitely stay private. The new's media is ruthless and relentless in exploiting this.
I have always been against this. They are human beings and their private lives should be just like every other person in this world PRIVATE! Who really cares who he slept with and how many women he had. He is in the lime light for is golf talent.
Same thing with the infamous Bill Clinton........."i did not have sexual relations with Monica Lewinski"........who cares!!!! As long as you do what you were promised to do then what you do in your spare time is your prerogative.
Maybe it's just me.........i am a private person......and i know i wouldn't want every tom, dick and harry knowing my private biz!!
