Yes! Djokovic dug deep down inside of him and found the strength to prevail, 7-5 in the fifth set! Big thanks to Nole for my first winning bet of the year! Smiley

It's time for this week's bet and I guess that the event that I chose can be quite obvious... You're right, it's the Super Bowl! The New York Giants face the New England Patriots tonight in Indianapolis in a rematch of the battle they had four years ago in which the Giants prevailed against the odds.

The situation is fairly similar today, the Patriots are the favourites but the Giants have shown fantastic form in the playoffs with Eli Manning throwing sensationally while protected by an awesome defence. As for the Patriots, Tom Brady is a great quarterback, no doubt about that, but he will have to face very tough opposition tonight. I think it will be a hard-fought match but my gut tells me that the New York Giants will win.

So there you go, it's a bet slightly against the odds. Here is the betting slip from Sports Interaction:

By the way, the two teams have met just once this season and the Giants won that 24 to 20!

It is a game that could go either way indeed but I just couldn't miss the Super Bowl Wink

It was a close match, as expected, but the Giants won it! The game ended 21 to 17 and that means a second consecutive winning bet! Wink

That's fantastic Johnny.  Congratulations on this mini streak.  It's nice to see your balance going up.

Also, I should add that on the strength of your choice (because I trust you) I won myself an entry to a $5k freeroll. Thanks for that.  You can see what I mean HERE.

Here we go again... I decided to go for a soccer bet this time, we're talking about an English Premier League match to be more precise. The game I have chosen is Aston Villa vs Manchester City, a game which sees the home side as underdogs.

However, I believe that Aston Villa have a real chance of getting a good result today mostly because Man City have not shown good form lately. I'm not entirely sure that Aston Villa can win the game but I'm fairly confident that they won't lose it so I went for a double chance bet.

Here is the betting slip from Sports Interaction:

The game will start in six hours...

Good luck Johnny.  I like the thinking behind this bet and hope you've got it right.

Fingers crossed for you!

So far so good, it's 0-0 at half time. It's true that Man City are dominating the game but they are looking fairly sluggish in attack so I believe that they would be quite lucky to win this one. I hope luck will be on my side and not on theirs Wink

Damn it, Man City did get lucky... They scored a rather flukey corner kick goal shortly after the hour mark and then Aston Villa missed two immense chances in the last three minutes of the game. Back to the drawing board...

You were unlucky Johnny! Aston Villa had its chances.

Yeah, unfortunately they started pushing forward when it was too late.

Better luck for your next bet Johnny.  What a shame and I really thought you were going to get this one.
