Hello folks! Starting today I will publish a true betting story here, the bets that I will place myself and, hopefully, the money I will win Smiley You can try to place the same bets as I do but that will surely won't be a guarantee that you will become rich. On the contrary, I see sports betting as a good way to have fun so I surely don't recommend getting too addicted to it or seeing it as a way to make money. Without further ado, let's see the first betting slip that I am going to place.

I'm a big fan of Premier League soccer so the first betting slip will be made entirely out of Premier League games. I decided to place it at Sports Interaction, here is how the betting slip looks like:

1. Arsenal FC v West Bromwich Albion
Arsenal FC to win, -625

2. Birmingham City v Wigan Athletic
Birmingham City to win, -118

3. West Ham United v Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur to win, +105

4. Bolton Wanderers v Manchester United
Manchester United to win, -200

Combination
Price: +560
Bet Amount:$ 10
Bet Payout: $ 65.99

Tough Luck...

It was a day full of surprising results in the Premier League and that nullified my chances of getting something out of my first betting slip. West Brom pulled off the biggest upset of the season so far by beating Arsenal 3-2 at Emirates Stadium! West Ham earned their first victory of the season at the expenses of Tottenham while Birmingham were held to a goalless draw at home.

There go my 10 bucks... I'll try to figure out a better betting slip next, stay tuned to find out what I will choose.

My sister is gutted Arsenal lost too.

Shame you lost this time but I'm pretty sure you're going to have some winners soon.  Good luck and I'm loving this thread.

Seattle Mariners at Tampa Bay Rays
(Moneyline)Tampa Bay to win - odds 1.40

It went a bit better this time, I got two out of three... Chicago won at LA 6-2, Tampa Bay beat Seattle 9-1 but the Yankees surprisingly got beaten by the Red Sox 7-3! I did have a lot of fun while following those games though, definitely worth the 10 bucks Smiley

I'll try to do better next time, stay tuned to find out!

Can I ask - as it was a combination bet, you won nothing I assume?  Would it have been worth doing 3 x single bets as well?

It was a combination bet indeed so I won nothing. If I would have gone for three single bets at 10 dollars each then I would have lost 10 on the Yankees and won 17 and respectively 14 on the other two. So I would have spent 30 and earned 31, not really convincing. I prefer to lose 10 bucks than to win one Smiley

lol - I can understand that.  Your return on the combo bet was far better than the individual bets.

Here we go, time for my next bet. Since midweek UEFA Champions League soccer is the most important sporting event these days I decided to make a combo bet on four games. Let's see what I chose and why:

Spartak Moscow vs MSK Zilina
I bet on Spartak to win, they have a far better team than Zilina, they won the first game 1-0 away at Marseille while Zilina were demolished at home by Chelsea. The odds are not great though, only 1.40

AS Roma vs CFR Cluj
I bet that Roma will beat my fellow Romanians simply because they are a lot better. I have watched Cluj's last games and they are playing rather poorly while Roma seem to be back on track after beating Inter 1-0 last weekend. The odds are 1.35

Basel vs Bayern Munich
I bet on an away win for Bayern because I have watched Basel's previous game (lost 2-1 at CFR Cluj) and they don't seem to be competitive at this level. The odds are pretty good considering the low risk, 1.90

Partizan Belgrade vs Arsenal
I put my money on a surprising draw, I think that Partizan will play a memorable game in front of their awesome fans and Arsenal will not be able to beat them. The odds are quite profitable if Partizan will pull it off, 3.30

Here is a screen shot of the betting slip I have submitted at Intertops:

So far so good, Spartak Moscow just beat Zilina 3-0! One down, three to go! Smiley

Well, I came close again but I had lots of fun following those four games. Let's see what happened.

Spartak Moscow vs MSK Zilina
I bet on Spartak to win and they did. Ari's looping header set Spartak on their way to success after 34 minutes and the Brazilian striker struck again from close range just after the hour mark. Slovakian champions Zilina tried to get back into the game but their hopes were finally extinguished late on when Ibson slotted home a third.

AS Roma vs CFR Cluj
I bet that Roma will win and they did but it was a lot more difficult for them than I would have expected. Lacina Traore was twice denied by the woodwork for Cluj and Roma made the most of their reprieve as Philippe Mexes scored the all-important opener deep into the second half. Marco Borriello volleyed home a spectacular second from a ball dipping over his shoulder to provide the highlight of the match, and Roma held on despite Ionut Rada's late goal for Cluj.

Basel vs Bayern Munich
I bet on an away win for Bayern and the Germans pulled it off but they had to come from behind to win the game. Alexander Frei curled in a delightful opener for Basel but Bastian Schweinsteiger scored twice, once from the penalty spot.

Partizan Belgrade vs Arsenal
I bet on a surprising draw but Arsenal made their superiority count on the score board. Andrey Arshavin broke the deadlock for the Gunners after linking up well with Jack Wilshere, but the Serbian side equalised before half-time courtesy of Cleo's penalty following a Denilson handball. I was right on track at half time but the Gunners reacted very well in the second half. Arsenal were presented with a spot-kick of their own when Marouane Chamakh was brought down early in the second half by Marko Jovanovic, who was sent off, but Arshavin's poor effort was saved by former Wigan goalkeeper Vladimir Stojkovic. The miss was not to prove costly, however, as Marouane Chamakh showed just what Arsenal have been missing in recent years, an aerial threat, by heading home 19 minutes from time. Sebastien Squillaci made it 3-1 before Lukasz Fabianski pressed his claims for a regular place in goal by brilliantly saving another Cleo penalty late on.

That's how it went, I'm pleased that I got 3 out of 4 but I'm sorry that my intuition proved wrong as far as Partizan were concerned.
