The New York Yankee's open up there new multi-billion $ stadium today as they host the Cleveland Indians, i bring this up cuz i want to get peoples opinion on how much they will spend to go to a baseball game. If you want to sit in the front row behind home plate its gonna cost you $2600 per seat, yes $2600, this is insane to me, in Cleveland i can get season tickets for that price and thats 82 games not 1. Just wondering if anyone else thinks thats as crazy as i do.

I too think it is a bit much at $2600, yet I know that when something is near and dear to your heart, and you want to be a part of that, a part of history, people are willing to pay what it costs. Lets face it, if we all had that kind of money, we would all do alot more things like spend $2600 to go to a baseball game. It's fun, it's history, its an awesome experience that you'll have for a lifetime. Can you put a price on that? I for one would go if I could afford such a luxury. PMM2008

Hi Tony,
In this economy at 2600.00 a seat, i think people will think twice. But on the other hand baseball is as American and apple pie. If you have that kind of money, then to indulge in a sport you love is fine.
Hey if i was rich...i would spend it on the Cubs!!!

Hi lipstick,
I suppose if you got the $ why not have the best of the best, when i first read about the $2600 per seat i thought it was just for this first game at the new stadium, but that is the price for every single game, $2600 X 81 games, thats alot of dough for baseball tix.

That's weird that the stadium is open, because they just offered me a job at the company that supplys the structural steel for the stadium...sounded like they had a lot of work still in process.
