Jamie McMurray held off Dale Earnhardt Jr. in a 2 lap overtime shootout to win the 52nd running of the Daytona 500. If you put a little money on him to win you would be going to the bank he was a 28-1 longshot to win.

Here's the top 10 finishers with there car # in ( ).

1.  Jamie McMurray (1)
2.  Dale Earnhardt Jr. (88)
3.  Greg Biffle (16)
4.  Clint Bowyer (33)
5.  David Reutimann (00)
6.  Martin Truex Jr. (56)
7.  Kevin Harvick (29)
8.  Matt Kenseth (17)
9.  Carl Edwards (99)
10.  Juan Pablo Montoya (42)

Speaking of the Daytona 500. I quit watching it when I found they were going to have a break in it. I don't recall this ever happening before and think this spits on the past history of the race when it's start to finish (Unless there's a red flad incident)

Have these drivers become lazy or weak??

The last few laps were very exciting, but to have to stop the race on 2 different occasions to fix of all things, a pothole in the racetrack was a big of a joke.

I agree with you some Gene that the tradition of NASCAR is fading away.

It is the 2ND post popular sport here in the states and the commercialism is killing the "good ole boy" tradition that the sport is.
