Not sure if you have heard the news but Gary Speed, aged just 42, hanged himself in his home in Cheshire.
He was the Wales manager and began his playing career at Leeds United after coming through the trainee ranks. He was part of the side that won the last Football League title in 1992, before the introduction of the Premier League.
It's so sad to see well known and loved footballers talking about him on the TV with tears in their eyes. What a sad event this is. I really feel for his family.

I was shocked when I heard about this, I really couldn't believe it. Everybody in British football is sad these days, he was a great player and a promising manager as well.

He was indeed. What I don't understand is why he did it. He had everything to live for; a great job, two young children and he was supposedly happy. The police say no suspicious circumstances. blue |
