Betting options for the Race track

Here is a list of betting options when playing at the race track......

WIN -  pick the horse to win

PLACE - pick the horse to come in first or second to win

SHOW-  pick the horse to come in first. second or third to win

Daily Double- pick the winner of the first and second race

Exacta- pick a horse to come in first and a horse to come in second

Quinella- pick a horse to come in first and second (no specific order)

Trifecta- pick a horse to come in first, second and third (in that order)

Trifecta box-pick three horses to come in first, second and third (no order)

Superfecta- pick the horse to come in first, second, third and fourth (in that order)

Pick Three- pick the winner of three consecutive races

Pick Four- pick the winner of four consecutive races

Pick Six-  pick the winner of six consecutive races

"Across the board"- Betting a horse to win, place and show in a single race

Wheel-pick a horse and "key" the rest. Ex: Exacta -choose the first place horse to win or place second and pick all horses to come in the other position.

Parital Wheel- pick your horse to win or come in second and select some horses to "key" with your selection.

Wheels confuse me and i never really play them. Of course they cost more money as well.

Hope this helps if anyone ever wants to try a different method of betting the ponies!

The best way to ease your way into it is not try and get to involved in all the info that is out there..start off by just making small bets on horses with a name you might like or your fav. number..and if you really like horse racing and not just have a little gambling action then start to look at the info that is available to you..its alot different then slot machines, if you do your homework you really can make $ at this form of gambling..if you just like the action it is great as well, you still get that same rush as in other forms of gambling but you have a human and animal element involved..it is a great sport.

Hiya Lady,

I think betting numbers or the names of horses is the easy way to get your feet wet. Its good to look at the odds of the horse too. Playing more favorites can be a safer bet....not always a guarantee...but safer.
